Herb-crusted Salmon

2009 August 1

Undeniably the most savory of all fish, it doesn’t take much to make salmon taste good. This recipe simply tells you how to bring out the fish’s natural flavors. Kudos to Mom! :) A 1lb filet will feed 2 – 3 people. Cooking time will vary according to fish size, but other ingredients won’t differ much. Prep time for this dish is approximately 5 minutes, and total cook time is 20 – 25 minutes.

Needed Materials:

  • filet of Atlantic Salmon
  • flat pan or broiler
  • nonstick cooking spray
  • aluminum foil
  • lemon juice
  • 1/4 stick butter
  • McCormick’s garlic and herb seasoning

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to “broil” or 500 degrees
  2. Place aluminum foil on top of pan
  3. Spray pan with cooking spray (using butter with this recipe will likely cause the bottom of the fish to overheat – nonstick cooking spray is definitely preferred)
  4. Rinse salmon and pat dry with a paper towel
  5. Place salmon on pan
  6. Use a fork to lightly perforate holes in the salmon
  7. Rub lemon juice over the filet
  8. Melt the butter, then pour over the salmon
  9. Completely cover the fish with McCormick’s garlic and herb seasoning
  10. Place in oven and let cook for approximately 15 minutes or until golden
  11. Let stand for 5 – 10 minutes, then enjoy! Goes great with a pineapple, peach, or mango salsa :)
